- cash payment at the start of the lesson
- eftpos payment (+ a small fee to cover eftpos costs) at the start of the lesson

A. The Queensland Department of Transport have a road rules hand book for all drivers. It is a guide containing essential information about the Queensland driver licensing system and road rules.
Use the following link to download a free copy of the whole book or just the section you would like to read. You can also do an online practice test of the written road rules test.
Your Keys to Driving in Queensland
A. We recommend wearing shoes with soles that have a good grip surface whilst driving, but it is legal (and sometimes much safer - eg. high heels or thongs) to drive barefoot (no socks) in a car (defined as a vehicle weighing less than 4.5 tonnes gross vehicle mass, built to carry no more than 12 adults including the driver).
Remember, if you do take your shoes off, place your unused footwear on the floor of the back seat so they do not interfere with your use of the pedals and possibly cause an accident.
To drive larger vehicles you are required to wear shoes at all times.
A. To encourage developing safe driving practices, and learning how to do the manoeuvres correctly, the Qld Government will give you triple time (3x) for the FIRST 10 hours of DRIVING LESSONS with a Qld Dept Transport AUTHORISED DRIVING INSTRUCTOR. This means your first 10 hours of lessons = 30 hours in your log book.
Any lessons taken after that are only at a normal 1 hour for 1 hour rate.
Any lessons that are claimed as night time driving can only taken at the normal 1 hour for 1 hour rate, never triple time.
A. We try very hard to be early or on time for lessons, but with the nature of this business, sometimes we get:
- stuck in heavy traffic,
- held up by road works,
- or need to make an unplanned pit stop when nature calls !
When possible, we will try to contact the student to let them know the situation, but if we are stuck in traffic, particularly on a freeway, by the time we get off, find a safe place to pull over, ring or text you, get back on to the freeway and finish driving to you, it could make us an extra 15 minutes late getting to you and our following lessons, so to save time we just keep driving.
Please be patient, and understand that if we are running late, we will always give you your full lesson time in the car, and, if that is not possible, we will discount your lesson according to the actual length of the lesson.
A. No, I'm sorry, if you are ill, particularly with cold/flu/ COVID 19 symptoms, or any other contagious illness, you are not able to get into the driving school car. We do this to help prevent the spread of disease.
If you have a test booked and you get sick, you will not be able to do your test as the Dept of Transport will not put the examiners at risk of illness.
Please contact us ASAP when you know you cannot attend a lesson so we can reschedule and have the chance to offer the lesson spot to other Learners.
